addtofaction

Actor

This command adds the selected NPC to the specific faction. Replace X with 1 for ally status or 0 for friendliness. Be sure to click on each NPC you want to add to the faction before entering this command. View all faction IDs here: falloutnewvegascommands.com/faction.

Parameter	Description
`Faction ID`required	The ID of the faction you want to add the NPC to.
`X`Numberrequired	Use `1` to make the NPC an ally of the faction. Use `0` to make the NPC friendly to the faction.

This command will add the selected NPC to your own Player Character's faction and make the NPC friendly.

This command will add the selected NPC to the Boomers' faction and make the NPC an ally.

Use to start quests

The command addtofaction 1b2a4, which adds an NPC to your own Player Character's faction, can be useful when you need to turn a hostile NPC into a friendly one in order to talk to them or to begin a quest related to them, that you otherwise could not start.

In this case, add the NPC to your fact, talk to them, and complete their quest. Then, remove them from your faction, and they will return back to being hostile.

How to open the console

Open the command console in Fallout: New Vegas by pressing the tilde key ~ while in-game. Depending on your keyboard layout, try one of these instead:
